Ross Silverman is a partner in the Chicago office of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, a full-service law firm with more than 700 lawyers in offices across the United States, as well as Shanghai and London. Over the past 30 years, Ross has led Katten’s Insurance and Health Care Fraud Litigation practice, representing some of the largest insurance companies in the United States in using analytics to identify systemic fraud schemes, creating claims handling practices to avoid payment of fraudulent claims, and developing affirmative litigation and other strategies to recover money paid as a result of fraud, as well as to deter participants in these schemes.
Ross and his team have successfully litigated well over one hundred large-scale RICO, fraud and qui tam actions against parties involved in systemic insurance fraud in virtually every major jurisdiction in the United States, leading to significant recoveries for Katten’s clients. Before joining Katten, Ross was a federal prosecutor for seven years with the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and the United States Attorney’s Office in Chicago. In these positions, Ross successfully prosecuted several large, sophisticated, financial crimes under the federal RICO and fraud statutes. Ross has received numerous professional accolades including appearing regularly in Best Lawyers in America, Benchmark Litigation Stars and Illinois Super Lawyers.
